The city of Girona is characterized by its famous historic core, which is delimited by “Passeig de la Muralla”. The Costa Brava
The Costa Brava is the coastal area of the province of Girona, Catalonia, Spain. This coastal strip has an extension of 214 km. It begins in Blanes and ends in Portbou, on the border with France, supplying the Catalan regions of “l’Alt Empordà”, Baix Emporda and La Selva.
Many of the towns in the coastal region were small fishing villages with white huts and narrow streets. The inhabitants, traditions and natural beauty of the region sparked the interest of artists and writers such as Marc Chagall, Picasso, Rusiñol and Dalí. Currently, the area conserves a large part of this essence that characterizes it.
The beaches of the Costa Brava are characterized by the quality of the waters. Other characteristics of the Costa Brava are the small alleys or sandy beaches, surrounded by vegetation, the cause of sea erosion on the dry rocks. Some are accessible from the sea and many others can be reached by coastal paths that run along the coast in some municipalities of the Costa Brava.
